Abu Dhabi, UAE: Endurance athletes made a strong impression at the Abu Dhabi Marathon. Ayelu Lema Deme finished fourth in the women’s race, while newcomer Kidanemariam Dessie Asfie placed tenth in his very first marathon.
For Kidanemariam, the marathon was a standout moment in his career. He completed the race in 2:11:16, an impressive time for his debut. His top-10 finish suggests he has a bright future in marathon racing.
The event attracted over 33,000 participants, making it one of the largest sports events in the UAE. Starting at ADNOC Headquarters, the runners passed iconic landmarks such as the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the World Trade Centre.
